Chinese New Year is a time for families to be together. Wherever they are, people come home to celebrate the festival with their families. The New Year’s Eve dinner is called Reunion Dinner, and is believed to be the most important meal of the year for the Chinese culture. To welcome the year of the Monkey, our after school students made wind socks of bright colors.

After School: Building Sand Castles

Our time of the week to build and get dirty finally arrived. Everyone was excited to get to work and start building. Today’s class required us to make our building material. When we look at the many building sites dotted across Bangkok, we notice that they use concrete. Concrete is used in building many of the skyscrapers across the world. Although we would not be using concrete, we could simulate making this building material and then use it to build a strong structure.
